Welcome to the Starr Piano Building—a distinguished landmark in the heart of Nashville where timeless elegance meets storied heritage.

Since 1889, our stately Queen Anne-style residence at 240 Rep. John Lewis Way North has stood as a tribute to the enduring spirit of music and craftsmanship. Originally home to the Jesse French Piano & Organ Company, our building quickly became a cultural cornerstone in a city destined to become Music City. Within these walls, over 200 exquisite instruments once echoed with artistry, welcoming patrons from across the South in search of refinement and resonance.

In 1897, our legacy evolved under the stewardship of Henry Gennett and the esteemed Starr Piano Company. With the addition of phonographs and the pioneering Gennett Records label, we became a sanctuary for innovation and discovery—hosting recordings from legendary artists such as Gene Autry and Uncle Dave Macon.

As the decades passed, we gracefully embraced the rhythm of change, housing an array of fine establishments before entering a new era of rejuvenation. In 2021, a thoughtful restoration breathed new life into our historic framework, seamlessly blending heritage with contemporary sophistication.

Today, the Starr Piano Building invites discerning guests to experience four bespoke residences—each curated with locally inspired art, bespoke furnishings, and a reverence for Nashville’s rich cultural tapestry.

We invite you to step inside and become part of our timeless narrative—where heritage is honored, beauty is curated, and every stay is orchestrated to the highest standard of elegance.
